Mariah joined the Administrative Modernization Program (AMP) when she moved to the University of Maryland's Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost to serve as the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Planning in May of 2016. In her role in the Provost’s office, Mariah drives and supports major activities that are important to the larger university, including the AMP effort. Mariah has been at UMD since 1999 and has had broad experience working at the college level, at the department level, in the Division of Research, and in Academic Affairs.
Vice President for Administration and Finance - Executive Team Member
Carlo Colella was named Vice President for Administration and Finance at the University of Maryland in June 2013. Prior to this role, Mr. Colella served as Associate Vice President and Chief Facilities Officer from 2011-2013. He joined the university in 1988 and has held progressively responsible positions in Facilities Management, including service as director of capital projects from 2002-2011. Prior to his career at Maryland, Colella worked as an engineer for five years. Colella earned B.S. and M.S.
Associate Provost for Planning and Special Projects
David Cronrath is a professor of Architecture and Associate Provost for Planning and Special Projects. His responsibilities include: serving as UMD liaison to The Phillips Collection partnership, strategic planning and design advisor for academic facilities, board member of the Terrapin Development Corporation and a member of the Administrative Modernization Program team. Prior to joining the leadership team he was Dean of the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation from 2010-2017.
Ira Levy is the executive director of the Administrative Modernization Program at The University of Maryland, College Park and was named to that position January of 2019. In this role, Ira focuses on campus-wide projects that transform the operational aspects of how UMD conducts business.
Previously, Mr. Levy led Affiniti LLC as the COO through a transformation from a national telecommunications service provider to a full-service managed services company, including the integration of multiple acquired providers.
TerpEngage (Salesforce) Administrator
Hind is a systems analyst and Salesforce administrator for AMP. She holds a Master's degree in Information System Management with concentration in information Security and Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator.
Sugandha Kumar Arora
Sugandha joined the Administrative Modernization Program in Feb 2020 after 10 years of work experience as Salesforce Developer/Tech Lead/Architect in various companies. She has a Masters in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins Engineering school and Bachelors of Computer Engineering from University of Maryland Baltimore County. Sugandha serves as Enterprise Architect for TerpEngage.
Sharon M. Goodall
Sharon Goodall joined the Office of Faculty Affairs in 2018 to manage the implementation of the faculty data reporting system. She also is a project manager in the Administrative Modernization Program. She has a master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and was previously involved in research in the CS department.
Jesam has worked at UMD for 5 years. He has worked on a number of projects in the role of Business Analyst focusing on requirements analysis, business processes and process modernization. Originally from Maryland, he received his Bachelor's degree and MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.
Jason DeSanto Jones
TerpEngage (Salesforce) Functional Lead
Jason DeSanto Jones joined the Administrative Modernization Program in November 2019 after fourteen years of work in academic advising and administration with the Robert H. Smith School of Business, as well as the College of Arts & Humanities. A two-time graduate of Indiana University (MS - Higher Education Administration; BA - Spanish & Biology), Jason serves as a Functional Lead for TerpEngage Advising and interfaces with a number of other Salesforce-based projects at UMD.
Alex Long is a Junior at the University of Maryland, College Park majoring in English. She joined the Administrative Modernization Program in September 2020 as a Technical Writing Intern and has been assisting the Terpengage team. Alex previously worked at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County as a technical writer.
Technical Specialist Intern
Kritik Mirg, originally from New Jersey, is a junior at UMD studying Information Science. He joined the Administrative Modernization Program in November 2020 as part of the Salesforce Team. Kritik has been working with the team on data management projects and is really enjoying learning and working in Salesforce. With a focus in Data Science, Kritik wants to combine his love for business and technology in the world of consulting.
Chad Nazworth joined the AMP Team as a Project Manager in November 2018. He is a Prosci Certified Change Management Practitioner and supports change activities across AMP projects. Prior to coming to UMD College Park, Chad served as Operations + Events Manager for UMBC at The Columbus Center/Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology (IMET) in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor; he also worked at Towson University in the Division of Innovation and Applied Research.
Senior Project Manager
Lina Parikh is a senior project manager who joined the Administrative Modernization Program (AMP) in July 2019. Previously, she worked in the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) at Bloomberg Industry Group and on private and federal sector initiatives, with an eye towards collaboration and continuous improvement. In addition to being a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Lina has extensive experience in training, communications, and instructional design. Her motto is: Let’s work smarter, not harder.
Krishna Sai Reddy Patil
Krishna joined the Administrative Modernization Program in January 2020. He is currently pursuing a master’s in Software Engineering at the University Of Maryland and has a bachelor’s in Computer Science from SRM University. Krishna serves as a Graduate Assistant and assists the TerpEngage team in day to day running and upkeep of the Salesforce Platform
Apitchaya (A.P.) Reed
Apitchaya Pimpawathin joined the Administrative Modernization Program (AMP) in July 2020. Prior to joining AMP, she worked in the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences and the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, in Academic Advising and Academic Administration. A.P. serves as a Functional Lead for TerpEngage Advising. She received a BA in Sociology and an MA in Education Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Technical Specialist Intern
Loranika joined the Administrative Modernization Program in October 2020. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor's in Information Science with a minor in Technological Entrepreneurship. Loranika serves as an Technical Specialist assisting in maintaining the TerpEngage team’s Salesforce Platform.

Varanika joined the Administrative Modernization Program in October 2020. She is currently pursuing a bachelors in Information Science with a minor in Technological Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland. Varanika serves as a Salesforce Intern and assists the TerpEngage Team in making sure Salesforce is efficient for daily use.
Business Analyst, Assistant Director
Dan Symonds has worked at UMD for the past 20 years, serving in a variety of roles within the Office of the Registrar. He has been heavily engaged in Access to Courses, Academic Policy Assessment and Implementation, and System Development. Over the past 8 years, Dan has served as a Business Analyst on the Student Information System Modernization Project, focusing on UM business processes, requirement analysis, and process reengineering. He also has provided leadership for a number of local and international Software Development Teams. Dan holds a BA from the University of Maryland.
