How Students Access Notes

Students must first log in to the Student Advising Portal, which can be accessed through the Student Resources page in the TerpEngage website.
- They will then click Advising Notes in the upper-left corner of the screen.
- All Advising Notes they have the ability to view will be here and can be opened by clicking on the “Advising Note Subject.” Their screen will look something like the image below.
How Advisors Access Notes
To Access Notes for a Specific Student:

You must first access the student’s Advising Case by searching their name in the search bar at the very top of the screen and clicking the result with the Advising Case icon, , attached.

You can click Advising Notes as indicated below to be shown a preview of a student's Advising Notes. You can click View All at the end of the preview to be taken to all of a student's Notes. You can click on a Note's subject to open it.

When viewing all of a student's Advising Notes, you can click any column header (except “Note”) to sort the list of Notes by that column. Once you have sorted one list, TerpEngage will remember that setting when viewing other student’s Notes. A small arrow (shown next to "Created Date" in the image below) will appear next to the column that the list of Advising Notes is sorted by.

To generate a report of all Advising Notes attached to a student:

Click View All Notes.

This is a report of all Advising Notes attached to the student. You can click Print PDF on the upper-right side of the page to save or print the report.

To Access Notes You Have Written:
- Click Advising Notes at the lower-left corner of the screen.

You will see all of the Advising Notes you have written in the window that appears.
- You can click the small minimize button (shown by the oval) to close the panel or click the launch button (shown by the box) to open it in a separate window.

Click My Advising Notes at the top of the panel to open up the full list of Notes you have written.

All Advising Notes you have written appear here. You can click on a Note’s subject to open it.
